The figure that the human female presents is influenced by social and cultural factors. Femininity and womanhood were words first recorded by the English poet Geoffrey Chaucer in the late 1300s to challenge notions of gender roles, and open up opportunities for individuals exhibiting feminine traits. To the Front: Femininity is Their, a poetry celebration of the traditional behaviours associated with femininity that includes; affection, beauty, empathy, gentleness, intuition, nurturance, patience, radiance and sensuality.
